Fireweed Lemonade

I guess I’ll make it known – I love fireweed! It goes by a few other names, too. I can’t pronounce the page in which you can read about it on Wikipedia, but my husband’s PlantSnap app tells us it is also called Rosebay Willowherb.

Last year, when I was researching fireweed jelly recipes, I also found a fireweed lemonade recipe. Although, now as the fireweed is flourishing again and I have a kitchen to work in, the recipe for this lemonade has since disappeared. So I set to the internet again to read about other flowers used in lemonade. I’ve seen lavender and rose as some of the most common. The fireweed alone is quite bitter, so I decided to base my recipe off of a rose syrup recipe and just include this syrup within the lemonade.

You will need to use these recipes for the last two ingredients of the lemonade.
